Random Fact Of The Day...

  1. It was one of the best opening scenes of a film ever.
     
  2. In 1970 I was sitting with my dad in the East Stand at Stamford Bridge for Chelsea vs. Arsenal. Most seats were empty at this point and dad pointed out to me that Colin Welland and another guy - I have the feeling it was Tony Selby - were about half a dozen rows behind us (and a little to the right).

    Chelsea won 2-1 and John Hollins scored a spectacular goal (Yay!)

    Some weeks later we were watching some play on the box - with Welland in it - that showed a brief scene of them at the match, in the East Stand. We weren't in it, but Christ knows where the camera was!

    Edit: Looking at both their film careers, I think it must have been in 'Villain' - which would make it a few years after the match that I saw the scene on the box. I remember being disappointed to realize they weren't there for the footie!
