Can you tell Ive had time on my hands whilst waiting for my shock ?? So I aquired a RB Evo module and a quick shifter for my DVT and fitted it whilst the rear shock was away for fettling(this detail is important as shall become apparent) the fitting itself is pretty straightforward and the supplied harness is a quality item, the same for the quick shifter part of it, as with all things Multi the longest part is pulling the bike to bits and then back together again ! so fast forward to today and having refitted the shock last night (see other ramblings) and off I went for a spin, 1st thing that immediately reared its head was a very odd misfire so back home, plugged the lap top in and it became clear that the misfire coincided with a green Q.S. appearing on the software dashboard ??? , so I lowered the sensitivity of the quick shift....yeah that sorta worked, no misfire...but no shifter either Arrrggghhhhhh so as not to bore everyone with the details this went on for a bit till I decided to do a full initialisation from scratch, this time because the bike was back together I used my foot to operate the gear lever, which gave a far higher initial setting for the shifter which allowed me to turn the sensitivity right down, which cured the misfire, on my 1st install as there was no shock in I used my hands to do the set up, which gave a false reading which meant it needed to be really sensitive to the point that bumps in the road would trigger it !! lesson learnt ! so back to road testing, with the RBE unit fitted it does feel stronger, smoother, it'll carry gears better at town speeds and I have to say over the course of the ride,about 130 miles today, it has started filling in the 5k hole in the fuelling, it certainly feels loads better overall it reckons about 200 miles over all to optimise the fuelling so it may get even better, I've had a few Power Commanders on various bikes and so far the RBE module feels better than those so far oh and the quick shifter ?? works like a charm now the eeejit fitting it has installed it properly
