  1. Hello Peeps,

I hope you're all well and getting ready to ride this weekend?

Me not as I'm on the search for a 999S... Gotta be quick as Autumn is coming and then it would be locked away until March... sob sob...

I'm currently scouring websites across Germany, Italy and France as here in Switzerland there are not many to find and the ones that are up for sale too highly priced for my liking...

So I have a question about Re spraying a RED 999S to Black - I'd be interested in anyone how has made this transition themselves to get an Idea of costs and the time it takes...

I am just talking about the Main Plastic Sides & Headlamp Fairings and the Rear Seat Hump... wing mirrors etc...

I've lusted ater a Nera / Nero but cannot find one... Or want to pay the full price. So I'll spray one Black... or like this one below...

I'm based in Zurich so Southern Germany would be Ideal for me to take the parts to, as it'd cost too much here - eg: a simple Round Dining Table we had Sprayed cost £300.

Anyone got any Contact this way?

    Thanks for your time guys.
    Ben

  3. The only good spray jobs I've seen in UK have cost about £1500.
Vinyl wrapping is becoming popular as it's much cheaper and removable to sell the bike in original condition.

  4. Out of the two colours the Black win's all day long, personally i couldn't spray a bike to look like another model as it just doesn't fill right to me also that has a black frame not the same look if red.

  5. I like both - What about Black with the White Number Nose & Tail Boards?
    Or just Black?
The Corse scheme, works well on this 999, I think - Not trying to be something it's not - but just different... Not a Yamaha painted like a Duc :/)

  11. Kinda adds up - Shipping £300+, Import Duties 8% £520 +Weight Fees £125 + Swiss MOT £350 inc changing the Pipes and any non Original Parts back over to pass = + £1,300 ontop of the Bike Price...

  12. All i can think of for the Nero is offer less to try and off set a bit of money,

Shipping cost seems ok, import duty get a receipt for less money? weight fees what the hells that and the Mot does that come with a weekend away for two, (how bloody much) :Wideyed:
Thats a lot of extra expense.

  13. I here you - but tbh I've got my eye on the bikes above as they work out cheaper the UK 1of50 Nero is nice but a luxury. May be I settle for less of a bike and save then add a few extras over time - I'm just a sucker for the S Forks and Brakes - I'm sad i know... otherwise a non S would suffice... I'm a visual tart.

  14. Let me know what you get, i have 1098s Ohlins forks/shock and its carbon bits on my 848 :upyeah:
