My Cagiva has Conti megaphone "silencers", bevel-head type. Can they be re-stuffed? Any stuffing that was in there has long since ceased to have any effect. Any advice gratefully received.
I have a similar pair on my 907ie. I can see no way they could be restricted without cutting them open. But given the construction, were they ever stuffed?
I restuffed my Termi silencer on my 749 a while ago, hell of a job. I have since learnt that there is a company that does this job, can't help you with the name though. Hopefully someone on here might be able to help with that.
I have re-packed Terni and Boss silencers in the past and they were relatively easy being of a tubular shape with a rivetted construction. The Conti are conical and welded
Helpful info - many thanks for the responses. Looks like I'll just have to live with the sound - not a hardship. Actually, although they sound loud when you first start up, my wife says that the bike does not sound offensively noisy when I ride off. The reason I posted this request was because of the news that the Government are looking to have "noise cameras", like speed cameras, to tag and fine noisy bikes. But they don't even have a measurement limit yet. The guys at the garage that MOTs my bike also race Ducatis so they are well used to loud ones...
The noise limits for bikes of your Cagivas age were much higher. I don't think they can apply the law retrospectively
