1200 Rear Brake Lever Compatibility

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by TBay, Aug 25, 2024.

  1. Looking at changing the standard rear brake lever in my 2012 MTS 1200S Touring as the standard is a bit small and I sometimes find it a bit tricky to find in a hurry.

Found one that looks right and says it fits, but also says it fits models up to 2017. Anyone know if this is likely to be right? I thought there were a lot of changes post 2012 and again post 2014.

  2. Unless anybody knows different they are the same up to 2014. 2017 pretty sure they are slightly different. Whether they would fit or not I don’t know.

  3. That fits with what I thought, makes me a bit unsure that one is described as fitting 2010-2017

  4. Tourtec do an extended toe pad if that's any help, I too find it a bit small and quite low even in the full up adjustment.

  5. Is it a generic one? When I looked before they didn’t do any stuff for Ducatis. A generic one would be fine.

  6. AELLA do rearsets, but you'll be paying for them and for shipping as they are from Japan. Although I think they do DVT/1260 only.

  7. Thanks all, I have ordered a generic extension and will adapt with my milling machine if needed. If that fails I will go for the SW Motech one I think.

  9. I had a similar one and I found it made a big difference to the rear brake.

  10. IMG_2632.jpeg Fitted it today after it arrived yesterday. Needed a bit of grinding on the bottom to match the profile but has gone on ok. Certainly not for the rivet counting concourse brigade bit is nice and solid and gives 10-15mm more pedal to the outside.

Snap. Did exactly the same with mine mate. Made finding the brake a lot easier. The only difference is I bolted mine straight through the pedal with some small dome st steel socket cap Allen bolts and nyloc nuts after scalloping the underside. Cost all of about £8.50. Great little mod.

  12. That is very true. My 1260 PP brake pedal adjustment range is very limited. I'm at the highest it can go in stock form.
