1200 Rear Brake Master Cylinder Plunger Wear

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by AirCon, Jul 15, 2014.

  1. MTS 1200S ABS 2010 plate 30k miles full Ducati service history.

During some work to upgrade the rear brake and gear levers (from CNC Racing).
I've noticed that the end of the plunger on the rear brake is really badly worn.
It has a gimble that allows the plunger to operate smoothly in the barrel of the master cylinder (as it moves slightly out of line during normal operation), a bit like the parts on the gear lever.

The gimble is totally "Cattle trucked", loose as a 4 year olds tooth (at least 1-2mm of play).
New one required....worth checking yours or at least putting some oil/grease (mine was bone dry) on before it goes the same way.
