Rear Carrier

  1. Looking for the best solution for carrying smallish items on the back of my ‘97 900ss
Found a couple of expensive options on the web but it involves moving and relocating the indicators
    Has anyone fitted anything similar?

  2. ^ Hepco & Becker (horribly expensive) but maybe a decent welder / fabricator could modify a spare pillion grab rail?

  3. That’s the sort of size I’m looking for, something that doesn’t interfere with the indicators… but the cost!!

  4. Ventura rack? Maybe modified for a small pack.

They do pop up secondhand every now and again. Fitment for both SS and SL doesn't interfere with anything.

  5. ^good idea, their standard sports pack size is not too offensive, but that H&B item, whilst appearing aesthetically pleasing, tis eyewateringly expensive for what it is.

  6. I started (and got side tracked) making up a templet for a bit bent and welded aluminium plate. I thought it would be more of a bit of support for any overhanging luggage.
I bought a second hand grab rail, but just need to fine turn the templet, stuff keeps getting in the way.

I think this is my first templet but later I added a cutout for the seat release to get the key in and a "D" shaped hole at the back to put a strap through.

    Cheers Gaz
