Rear Hugger for a 1098s 2007

  1. Guys,
About to collect a 1098s in the next couple of weeks, at present does not have a rear hugger, anyone suggest a good carbon one?
Also how hard is it to fit, is their fixing points on the swing arm.

  2. I have a Power Bronze on mine, it looks nice IMHO............ BUT it uses a steel frame for attachment so it kinda negates the point of carbon. Other minuses are it doesn't go around the rear shock as well as I'd like and I had to slot one of the holes on the frame to mount it.

There are 3 threaded holes on the swingarm I think M5 but I haven't been in there in ages, its quite easy to fit them. Problem is that because of the single sided arm none of them are entirely satisfactory. I'd go for one of the extended ones, rather than the shorty.

In the end I got a R&G shock protector too as I got fed up cleaning shit out of all the mountings on the shock.

  3. I agree with Jock. I have the shorty and it catches nothing. Looks OK but not much use. The three holes are 5mm and easy to get at.

  4. I just got one like this (although at half the price)

Very happy with the look and it should do a decent job protecting the suspension. I'm pretty sure there will be still crap on undertray and cans but I didn't want a long one and this seems like a good compromise. Plus for about £35 I couldn't say no
There are three 5mm holes but the one on the right hand side was right pain to get to. Maybe it's because I've got race Termis....
