Anyone had there rear mudguard fall apart. Half of mine is somewhere between Portugal and Spain. Had deep buzz sound from the rear, when I stoped for fuel half the guard was missing. Looks like the plastic rivets have pulled through, is this a common problem? I know half the people will say leave it off as it looks better but I want it there to stop spray and mud flinging up. Only did about 50 miles in the wet and top box was covered in dirt, this never happened with guard in place on either my 1200 or 1260
Half of the stupid plastic rivets on mine had pulled through so it moved about a bit. Took it off recently and there is more spray but adjusting the chain is far easier and it does look better IMHO. Tried to get dealer to sort it out under warranty but that fell on deaf ears.
The end plate/guard fell off mine in France. Replaced under warranty. I think I still might have the bits if they are of use to you Topher.
Same happened on my 18 plate 1260, replaced under warranty, could be a bad batch where the plastic rivets just gave way.
Right, at the stealers on Thursday. Judging by the above I'd better strike whilst the extended warranty is still valid.
Thanks guys In at dealers on Monday with my Sled so will ask again. There initial response was the same as yours Bumpkin; I will take some pictures and pursue the issue. Thanks for your offer Coman I’ll let you know how I get on
Yes! Noticed some of the plastic rivets/weld had failed while under warranty, took it to dealer thinking it would be a straight replacement, the helpful service guy didn’t want to know but following a email to Ducati UK the next day the same said service guy was falling over himself to offer a replacement under warranty!
