Ok, nothing came up when I typed rear paddock stand 998 but I'm sure it's been posted before.. Can someone recommend a good one that is not really expensive? I don't want my bike to end up on the floor but I don't need it to be made of aerospace materials either. Also what is the mod to the side stand, fit a 1198 one? I did read it on here somewhere. I will keep a look out on flea bay for these items.. the bike is leaning more than I'd like. Thanks
Demon Tweeks have 50% off a Warrior single sided rear swing arm paddock stand at £35 which looks uncannily similar to the £70 Bike Tec budget stand. Better quality means higher price although the R&G offering looks good value at £115. Andy
Thanks Andy, I think I looked at the R & G one. Does anyone know if the Warrior stand is sound and no issues? I have read posts on here about bikes falling over which is a bit concerning. I don't mind spending a few quid it's not worth risking damaging a shiny bike. I just don't want to spend hundreds at the moment - too many things to spend on at once.
I think there was a few threads on fitting an 848 side stand or are these any good to stop the flip up. New listing Ducati 916 / 996 / 748 side stand conversion plate NOS
I think it maybe the 848, 1098 stand - length (I found a different thread on the forum after googling it) I don't mind it flipping up, rather than staying down.
I had a Warrior stand delivered from eBay a couple days ago and it's as solid as my KTM ones which cost the earth like the Ducati ones. I didn't expect it to be anywhere near as strong as it is, no flex and spindle fits perfectly with two sealed bearings. I've even had rear wheel spinning it in and no movement or flex...
I have an FG paddock stand under both my bikes. These are solid stand, where not cheap when new. But for the 916-998 you can find them at a good price now. Henk!!!
Does anyone know the center pin diameter of the 998-s? The Warrior one by Demon Tweeks states it is for a Duke 1098. I do have a vernier here, if it's accessible. I don't want to buy one that won't fit. It's 4am so I will wait a while before I go outside to see if I can in to measure it accurately.
FG were the providers for the DP stands and they are very strong. I use them front and rear and from experience a cheap stand can sometimes be a bit too cheap and bend due to the weight of the bike. With an FG stand it will support the weight of the bike easily and you can sit on it quite happily to make adjustments to footpegs\gearchange etc. and it will still take the weight. I have the R&G stand for my monster 1200 and it is well make and particularly easy to use. I used the shop by bike feature on R&G's web site and it selected the correct stand pin. You'll need outside circlip pliers to put it together.
I got an FG from another forum member. Well used and could do with a little paint if I ever get round to it but £40. (£40 seems my default price for everything).
Right place right time then CR > not jealous, much  Do you want to sell it? If you throw in that side stand from the 996 I might be able to make it £80 (that is laughing apparently, strange, looks a bit aggressive to me)
eBay Rear paddock stand csr Ducati 998 02-04 single swing arm £47.72 +postage This little fella looks pretty good to me. Think I'm going to get one. Anyone had one? It's in Germany despite having a uk name.
I've read loads of awful reviews on the Constands, thats why I went for the Warrior and I'm not disappointed.
