Rear Seat Lock

  1. Hi guys after taking my daughter on the back the other day I noticed the barrel of the seat lock was no longer their, hoping it was still attached to the cable but after removing the rear faring no luck it was gone :( now what are my options as its the barrel means new different key too :(

  2. Strange. I think the lock is held on by a large nut inside the rear fairing which spins on over the lock itself.

No idea on replacement I'm afraid. I expect you could get a replacement but it will have a different key. Short of replacing the whole lock set and ignition it may be that you'll need 2 keys.

  3. Mine went awol on my 998 - never felt the need to replace it but they were about £30 odd quid from Ducati. Does it matter if the key is different if you need one fitting?

  4. Nuh I would prefer that then just a hole lol would give them a bell tomorrow.

  5. I would have thought that as there is a mechanical key number on the code card you will be able to get one that fits your existing locks, will need programming though I expect just in case you wish to use it to start the bike.

  6. I checked with a Ducati dealer and was told not.

  7. im building a 848 back to street mate i have a extra barrel pretty easy to make it fit your key.
once you put your key in you will have 1-4 brass pins stick up. put in you key what ever ones that are sticking up just file them down and walla your key works
