1200 DVT Rear Shock Eye Bushes

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Funners, Feb 7, 2022.

  1. Evening folks I’ve my shock out of the bike at the moment as I have a small amount of play in the top mounting bush
I intend to replace both at once and wondered if anyone has any details/links to where I can purchase them, getting them fitted isn’t an issue but so far Ducati dont seem to list them separately and a couple of local suspension places have run away at the thought of working on electronic suspension
    Any pointers gratefully received
    Many thanks

  2. I think you'll struggle to find a multi without that play. Mine had it since I got it. Seems quite normal. TADT apparently? I know wierd.

  4. My bike has that issue too - it's been the same since I first noticed it when I replaced a rear tyre (likely around 6000 miles). Pretty sure my pre-DVT 1200S was the same. Surprised it didn't fail an MoT to be honest.

  5. Mate you have NO idea how helpful these links have been, I really can’t thank you enough :):upyeah:
A quick recap of the last few days…
1st thanks to everyone who has replied
2nd a HUGE THANKS to HootOwl that info was absolutely key
So Ducati dont do the bushes, their only solution is a new shock :astonished:
The info HootOwl supplied has the bearing sizes and more importantly the fact that it’s the same as some Beta models…. My mate is a Beta dealer :grinning: result.
They’d spent the morning trying various trade contacts including Ducati main dealers only to draw a blank
When I turned up armed with Beta part numbers we quickly found not only the correct Beta bearing ( approx £40 just for the spherical bearing) but they had some Allballs aftermarket full kits in stock
Measuring the bearings and top hats they aren’t just close… they are bang on
Each bush consists of a centre spherical bearing,2 circlips, 2 felt pads and 2 top hat sections
The old bearings pressed out very easy abs the new ones straight back in
The whole operation took less than 20 mins
The shock is now back in the bike and there is ZERO play… so they dont all do that
I’ll post up the allballs kit reference so that if anyone else wants it they know what to purchase
Oh and it’s the exact same set up top and bottom :upyeah:

  8. The last picture shows the old top bearing the hardening has gone and you can move the centre an appreciable amount by hand so it’s no wonder you can feel it when magnified by the swing arm
Excellent result all round virtual beers on me :party:

  11. How many miles has your bike done?

    Useful thread.

  12. It’s done just shy of 36k miles

  13. I am glad you got sorted and that info helped. I knew I had read it somewhere, but for the life I could not recall where and how it was worded so it took a while to find :)

I have bookmarked it now so's I can find it again

For the UK guys, that bearing is on Amazon if you cant find it locally
