Hi Guys, I had a problem with the standard rear shock on my S4r Monster, it had excessive play in the top mount causing a massive amount of play at the axle - 10-15mm of movement, I have replaced all the top hat bushes, needle rollers & bolts to no avail, the shock is not rebuildable (but is replaceable £££) so I took it to a mate of mine who does a lot of lathe/milling work (from home) to see if he could do anything with it, turns out it was the spherical bearing that needed replacing ( with a high quality German bearing) and the top & bottom bolts are different diameters??? One is 9.7mm the other is 9.8mm so he fabricated bespoke top hat bushes (from stainless) with a H7 tolerance for a perfect fit - the result is spot on, everything fits perfectly and no play at the axle whatsoever.
