So who uses quick change v standard set up and what makes do you use? Looking for a new set up soon so doing some research meantime. I think I will probably go +2 on the rear. No preference so far as to what way I go, would be interested to see what way most go though
I went one down on the front and one up on the back. It almost seems like I overdid it.... Stayed with std type sprockets but went down to 525# as well. One down on the front would have been fine.
Went down one on the front, cheaper and easier. Using it sprocket on front and ducati on back. My dealer gives me a discount on parts.
Standard sprockets on mine and standard gearing. If a 1200 V twin hasn't enough torque or top end for anyone - its time to give up and drive cars
+2 for me on the rear. Helped around town and worth doing. Only diff really with QR is you can cheaply buy other sprockets.
I went one down on the front on my 1260pp purely because it made life easier, the gearing was pretty poor for example in 30mph zones as it was not comfortable in any gear and at 70mph it felt like it was almost chugging 5th gear... Now it is so much better as with all Multis the gearing is too high
I’ve tried 2 at the rear and then 1 at the front*. Individually and together. Both is too much IMHO. I’m sticking with one down at the front and keeping the standard at the rear. Mainly because it seems to go better with the standard chain. Removing the standard fr sprocket with the chain in place is doable but a gigantic pain in the arse! Just persevere! I’ve yet to meet anyone that has changed the gearing and not loved it.
I went for a SuperSprox rear, std sizing at 40T and went to a 14T front JT ISTR, the small drop in gearing just makes the spread of the gearbox better round town
