Rear Tyre Size

  1. Good afternoon everybody,

Looking for a smidgen of advice

I currently use Metzeler Racetec RR K3's on track, but thinking of changing and using a K1 front and K2 rear. I currently use a 180/55 rear, but have seen you can get 200/55 rear.

The advice I would like is: Is there any advantage to using a 200/55 rear instead of a 180/55 or is it best to stick with the 180?

Any help would be most appreciated

    Thanks :)

  2. The 200/55 needs a 6" rim. If your stock tyre is a 180/55, then you've probably got a 5.5"....... just looked at your profile. The 848 is a 180/55 on a 5.5" rim. You wouldn't get a 200/55 in the swingarm. We've just tried getting a 180/60 in to a customers bike and without lengthening the chain, that wouldn't fit, so no chance with the 200
