The other day, whilst rolling a bike of a dyno, I could hear a metallic noise I'd not come across before. On closer inspection I found a steel sleeve in the wheel hub cavity. It turned out to be the inner sleeve from one of the dampers. First thought was 'oh dear' because as we all know replacing these can be a little exciting. More annoying as the rubber was in good condition. Further prodding showed 3 more were coming loose also. So in the end I went and had a batch of spacers made using stainless steel. They have a small lip to prevent migration on to the wheel cavity. I've used 4. There are plenty left. If during your winter refresh you find some loose drop me a line.
