749 Rear Wheel Tq Value

Discussion in '749 / 999' started by Spjallen, Jun 4, 2015.

  1. As some of you may know I had a rear wheel bearing failure at Snett test day. I've been looking into why and would love to clarify the following. What tq value to you actually use on a black box section swingarm. The book states 133 ft lbs which seems excessive to me. Thoughts please.

  2. 180 NM just under 133 Ft Lbs

  3. It's just seems so much. My range rover wheels are only 81 ft bs!!

  4. Used that value on my 999 since 2005 without issue. The 230 NM on my 1198 really frightened me.

  5. That's what I've got in my official workshop manual too. Just don't like it! Is that with the nut having any grease on it or a dry tq value?

  6. Personally I don't put grease on the thread. Just a light coating on the axle.

  7. Seems I'm doing it right then.
