A 959 track bike has come up locally with a potentially dropped valve. What are these engine like when they go bang? I understand they don’t all fail in the same way so was wondering how the Tri options guys get on with rebuilds etc. Buying and engine complete doesn’t make the bike financially viable but time on cylinder head replacement may work.
If its the one I've seen, I noted he said it locked on a possible dropped valve so you might be lucky and is something simpler. If not, it could at worst case a new head, piston, liner, and rod. If it's that one, I did contemplate an offer, but decided it was too expensive
