just wondering do any of you lot have info on rechecking belt tension after a new pair has been fitted. is there a particular interval of say 400 miles for example where they can be recheched and should be within a specified range (I used the Hertz method) .....refitting used belts too..... i am just wondering if one had to remove them for any reason and you had to refit them....what tension would you use ??? as they would no longer be brand new but also wouldnt be knackered either thanks
You'd be right Crystal ,I also believe that the tension can go as low as 75hz and they are still ok, although they should then be re-tensioned to 90hz
^^ Interesting as I checked my 748SPS the other day after only about 300 plus miles with belts fitted by a Ducati mechanic originally. I was surprised at how "loose" they were, you could literally slide then off the timing rollers. I decided to re-tension them slightly as I found it quite alarming how much they had stretched. Has anyone else experienced this?
