For an 848. For some reason mine discards the left side bar end at will. Had the bike a bit over 12 months and Ive lost 3 standard ones now. Last one managed 42 miles. Is r & g the obvious option? Are there others that expand on tightening like normal ones? I ride with my hands on the very end of the bars and really notice the squishy grip when the end is missing. Don't feel comfortable. Cheers.
Motorcycle Large Universal Bar End Weights Just ordered these following recommendation from Mr Spareparts on the forum
I run the R+G ones on my RC8 race bikes but they didn't come with the expanding bit. They screw into the OEM expander. Your cheapest option could be the nylon rounded bungs available from most race suppliers. I run those on my duc and they are fine.
Thanks all for suggestions. I'll be ordering the Oberon ones too. They look like they'll do the job and aren't ridiculously expensive for what they are.
If you ride with you're hand right on the outside of the grip, if not even on the bar end, you could find you're starting to unscrew it, then the vibrations are just finishing it off. If you haven't already, try a good blob of loctite on the thread of you're next ones. Might save you scattering parts over various parts of the country.
With the standard ones, just insert them with a bit on silicone sealer on the part that goes in the bar. Or for not much money, JHP Parts Products - JHP Aluminium clip-on handle bars Get the bars and bungs for £30.
Sorry to jump in on this thread, but I just lost my left plastic bar end. The grip keeps sliding off as well, can anyone tell me if the Oberon bar end weights overlap the bars (ie wider diameter) to stop the grip sliding off?
I bought the Oberon ones too and they're ace. Same link as above, thanks to Spareparts for mine too! They don't overlap the bar, they are the same size as the stock cheap ass plastic ones. They are expanders though so you can tighten them up, the plastic ones just pop in and out.
Don't bother with the glue. Go to Tesco/Sainbury's/Morrison and buy some hairspray. Cheap as chips and job done.
aha, bikers secrets revealed. Will try petrol, and if more stick needed will steal my daughters hairspray..
