Recover Seat

  1. Anyone recovered a streetfighter seat? Ive bought a luimoto cover and just wondered if its best to fit directly on top of the existing cover (I'm sure ive rear this on here somewhere) also if the old cover has to be taken of is it straight forward or glued to the foam padding?
    Any advice appreciated

  2. Take it to an upholstery shop and ask if they can fit it for cash

Best get an experienced person to do a job like this for maybe twenty quid

  3. Cheers mate,
Ive tried the new cover on over the existing one and its not going to be a problem, just found out my dad has an electric stapler, looking at it now it should be an easy straight forward job, not to tight on bike ether.

  4. Just a suggestion like as I'd make a hash of it and end up with more wrinkles than a pensioners face

Mine needs doing and would love alcantara but have heard it leaks in the rain

  5. i will always try something myself and whether I goes to plan or not lol like you say sometimes doesn't work out,
well got myself a box of heavy duty staples from Homebase few hours ago and its turned out a treat, used 6mm staples as suggested but will need to get some 8mm or 10mm in the morning to finish of the front corners where the staples have to go through 3 layers where its folded,
defo do this again, not hard at all to do

  6. Sometimes the covers supplied won't fit without removing the original one. I had mine done (999) by a professional trimmer and it turned out brilliantly. You need to stretch them a fair bit before stapling and perhaps a bit of glue in the middle
