Red Frame Paint

  1. I want to paint the subframe on my 1100s hyper red like the main frame. I looked on rs bike paint for an aerosol can but I don't want to pAy £60 for it. Anyone know anywhere else I can get an aerosol for Ducati red (Frame)

  2. Why dont you take it to a paint shop and have it done properly. Rattle cans on a frame wont last it will chip really easily, any decent paint shop will do it for you

Ducati anniversary red PPG Code is 473.101

  3. Yeah probably get it done @ work I'm owed a favour was just hoping I could do it today

  4. A motor factor with a spectrum analyser could match the colour and have it put into a can\s if you really wanted it to do it that way. Better to have it done as mentioned above by a professional or get it powdercoated if you can match the colour from a RAL colour chart.

    RAL Color Chart | www.RALcolor.com

  5. Hi red. Which of the RAL reds would you consider to be the closest? Just asking as I'm thinking about having my frame powder coated red during the winter.

    Thanks, Ian

  6. From memory I think it is Signal Red RAL 3001. I have had one frame done like this and it was pretty close to the Ducati Red used for the late 1990's to early 2000's 748-998 range of bikes.

Any decent powdercoater will have colour charts\samples so that you can compare the colour with your own.

You can have special mixes made but usually there is a minimum quantity of powder and it's a lot and pretty expensive.

I use these people who are very good. Maldon Shotblasting and Powder Coating
