Make sure your mechanic listens to you! I explained to my mechanic that replacing the full filler cap can be a PIA job. I suggested he followed instructions from the forum. But...after spending 6 hours trying to get the filler cap to fit he finally succumbed and went on the web. Ok, I may be a punter and not mechanically minded but I did warn him. Fortunately he owned up and is not charging me for the time it took! FE now running sweet and almost ready for action should the sunshine ever return. N.B. For all those that don't know, the secret is to fit the black rubber seal around the alloy cap after fitting the cap. You may need a little vaseline and a second pair of hands to do this. Just like all the best things in life really!
