Reg/Rectifier Oil in Block Connector

  1. Disconnected the Reg/Rectifier block connector behind the Battery on my 996S and noticed quite a bit of oil in the connector itself. I've read somewhere oil can creep through the cabling from the Generator eventually ending up in the block connector. Cleaned it all out but it's reappeared after about 50 miles riding. So guess it's still creeping through the cable ????

Am I right here, is there anyway of curing it and does it cause a problem ?

  2. I have upgraded the wiring on my 748 so the outer sheath is no longer in place, where the cables exit the casing it is sealed with a rubber mastic.
Perhaps you could remove a small amount of outer sheath and do the same.
