so one of the stock silencers on my 95 750ss has fractured at the narrow join about four inches before (or after, depending on how you look at it) it goes into the downpipe. A friendly welder chap has run a line of weld a third of a way round to hold it together and reckons he can do the whole job if I get it off the bike. Question is, how hard is it to remove the silencer from the down pipe? there doesn't appear to be any clamp, so I'm assuming its a firm push fit. Is it just a question of unbolting the hanger and twisting a bit till it comes off, or what? I don't want to do anything till I've got fair idea I can do it without making a mess of the pipe. And yes, I know I should fit Termis, but I aint got the cash, so none of that please... Thanks in advance
"Is it just a question of unbolting the hanger and twisting a bit till it comes off, or what?" Yup...exactly that
