  1. Have bought a black yoke and replacing the silver one
Silly question but I am not sure of where is best place to support the bike to take it off?

  2. Top yoke? if so probably can just change it without any support.

  3. Is the bottom yoke enough to hold it then? That will make life easier than I assumed !

  4. I think it should be OK just don't ride it without.

  5. You can change it without support, the stanchions will twist/spring back ever so sligthly when you remove
the stem nut this puts a strain on the last few threads when removing , and makes it a bit of a fiddle
to get the stem nut restarted when you refit the new top yolke.(fine thread aluminium)
The bike will need to be lifted front/wheel/suspension free and off the ground to adjust the bearings anyhow so ?? its up to you.

  6. your throwing a bit of a red herring there mate he doesnt need to undo the stem nut to change the top yoke.........

  7. The stem nut can be used to draw the old one off, yes you can leave it in place but once it`s
pinch bolt is unscrewed it should be rechecked for adjustment anyway, after all its quite a saftey critical area.
plus i would check with it being a new part the stem nut fits the new yolke with no issues off the bike no chance of
scratches to paint etc thats how i would do it. :).
