1. Renthal Bars 1200 Mutly for sweep..?
no i don't mean sootie..

I mean am I the only one that thinks the Multistrada's bars are built for offroad only.
The sweep on them mean you have to ride the bike with your elbows high

Now thats great if I am standing up doing a bit of off road, But

How many of us actually do off road. I recon at a guess about 95% of us do not.

So a better sweep back on the bars would make it more ergonomic.

A better fit our genral riding style.

ANY WAY . my question is this
does any one else think this ?
Has any one else fitted a better set of bars?

love to hear, regards Biker Dave.

2. So do you have a picture to illustrate what you are getting at ? In my case you are right in that I do very little off road riding but at over 6 ft tall and I have to say after my ST4s the Multistrada bars seem to be ideal for me. I did a 1000 miles over a long weekend without any ill effects and noticed how easy it is to put the Multistrada exactly where I wanted it. I'll be interested to see what the rest of the community on here thinks. Andy

3. The answer is YES. See this thread.
I've fitted risers as suggested in order to rotate the bars back for a better angle without the controls hitting the tank. The difficulty with fitting aftermarket bars is that next to none of them offer enough straight bar on the RH side to accommodate all the controls.

4. I know it's going to be a cold day in hell when the majority of Multistrada riders take their bike off road but the bar position as it comes from the factory is bang on for me if I'm standing up on the footrests and the small amount of riding I've done on cinder tracks has been easy because of this.

I ride a KTM 250EXC off road and race it in the big Welsh rallies/enduros and the Multi is actually easier to control up to about 50mph on cinder than the EXC is because the EXC has me leaning forward a little bit further forward than is really comfortable. There's no way I'd race the Multi even in a rally where it was mainly fire breaks because I'd be shitting myself in case I threw it into the bushes but it does appear that Ducati have actually thought about things and made the bike so a more competent person than me could really throw it about on that kind of surface.

5. SWEEP.jpg HI guys than's for replies.
however i really don't see how risers can help.
As I have tried moving bars around, this helped a little.
My ideal fitting would be with the sweep at the ends in more. this would fit my natural body arm/and position
as i ride the bike.
Im 5.10" and find the bike really comfie apart from the bars.

6. I agree, I too want the with a more backward sweep. Using the risers allowed the bars to be rotated backwards to achieve this to some extent. Without the risers the controls would hit the tank on full lock.

7. Derek hi
Glad Im not the only one then. As I say if i stand up in an off road position it fits great as my elbows and stance is much higher.
But as soon as i sit down my wrists are twisted inwards meaning I have to raise my elbows high to sit right.
Now thats alright for a bit but once you relax your arms. (twisted wrists)

So has any one ever seen a set of bars or used a set that gets over this?

Get on your mutleys riders and see for yourself and give feedback. ( maybe its just my bike? )
