1200 DVT Replacement Brake Pads

  1. Hi All,

Id appreciate thoughts on replacing brake pads. I bought my MTS last August. The supplying trader made me aware that the front pads had been given an advisory on the last MOT in May 2018 by a main dealer.
The supplying trader said in his opinion the pads were fine. Over the winter I normally carry out maintenance and cleaning (very therapeutic) I had the brakes apart for cleaning, there's approximately 3mm left on the front pads, enough for this season in my opinion.
Come end of this season I will be looking to replace them. Logically, the thing to do is replace like for like.
However, when you start looking, there's quite a bit of choice of makes and price. What's your thoughts experiences with alternate pads.

  2. Brembo do a wide range of pads mate suited for what you use the bike for. Might be worth a look.

  3. EBC brake pads, better than OEM imho.

  4. Thanks guys, I'll have a look.

  5. EBC HH work well and very good value.

  6. Personally I'd replace them but keep the ones you are taking out as a spare set but store in a dry place. I've tended to use ebc hh on most bikes and they do the job I expect. Brakes are the one part of the bike I tend to overspend if it gives me better results.

  7. I've ordered original Brembo pads for my 1200S (DVT 15+) from carpimoto.it (Front: 07BB3793 x 2 pairs, Rear: 07BB0483 x 1 pair)

  8. SBS. As good as Brembo but half the price.

  9. I really like the feel of Bendix MF pads with the M4 calipers - which I think is what you have on the dvt?

  10. Thanks interesting , I've looked at the subs pads after reading about them in man.
