Hi, bought a set of replacement grips for a from a Ducati dealer in the UK off ebay with title "Progrip Black soft Race Grips 748 916 996 998 888 851 ...". There advertised as "Can be used for many Ducati models with standard 22mm dia handlebars". On the throttle side I noticed on the OEM grip there are two tabs that seat the grip in the throttle housing. The replacement grips are missing these and the replacement on the throttle side isnt long enough to cover throttle housing fully, leaving a gap. Can anyone recommend an replacement grip with the tabs and one that covers the throttle body fully, other than the OEM (8000.78345)? If OEM is the only option, are these easily got? Or can you use grips from a later model? Thanks, Damian.
I seem to remember that the throttle grip only comes with the plastic roller insert and the clutch side is just plain. I use pro grips on two of my bikes but used a spare inside roller and machined it down so that it doesn't look so ill fitting. Pro grips are pretty good and to my mind better than the stock orininals.
