Can anyone recommend replacement plug (HT) lead for my stock '92 900SS coils? As I'm too lazy to look at the moment can anyone tell me how the leads secure to the coils, and if there is an optimum lead diameter? I've had no trouble with NGK plug caps but intend changing these at the same time as upgrading the wires ... any worthwhile upgrades? Is it worth running the horizontal cylinder lead over to the offside of the engine to get it away from the pick-up leads, as I've seen suggested, or would the extra length outweigh any advantage? So many questions, so little chance that any advantage will be gained ......
if the coils are grey in colour DO NOT try and 'unscrew' the leads as you will wreck them (one-piece - coil and lead) If the coil bodies are black and slimmer then they will 'unscrew' and ditto for plug cap for both types. There are many options here - you can get a nice red in colour, slightly fatter spark plug lead that will still enter hole and NGK caps are a firm favorite in several shapes.
Typical ..... grey coils! Never mind, now I've got an excuse to shop for something aftermarket. Advice?
dyna now do some really trick mini coils with integrated leads iirc, can't for the life of me remeber the details of where to get them though. I've got original dyna coils on mine, 5 ohm coils with magnecor leads.
yes, I got mine from cycleworks, but I was wondering if there was a uk outlet for indiecourier so he didn't have to go through the paying import duty rubbish.
Heres what I did with mine, Dyna Mini coils from SPR racing , Taylor HT leads from Ebay, all fit very neatly on std coil mounts
They are DC3-2 3 Ohm Miniature Single Output , I cant find the invoice but they were very reasonable at SPR £130-150 from Memory
