Hi. I’d like to replace the standard switch gear on my Monster 696, but with it having a fast idle lever I can’t find anything. Does anyone know what happens if you just don’t have that lever? Does the ECU expect it?
I’ve just been through all this with my 998S. The bike was kept in a warm building and with the lever removed for fitting the Billet clutch, the bike was a pig to start with just the fast idle button. Ended up modding the original switchgear to accept the choke lever.
I took my fast idle switch off my 748 to fit a quick action throttle. I might have opened the throttle very slightly when starting [can't remember], but it couldn't have been any real issues else I would have swapped it back; which I didn't... Bob
