Replacing temperature gauge

  1. My temp gauge was cracked when I got the bike and I've been looking for a replacement. Got lucky on Ebay for £25.
Followed the instructions in my Haynes manual - not too bad to be fair.
While I was in there I took the headlight apart and wiped off the 'milky crap' inside the projector and high beam with IPA.
Soldered in some extra wire on the front indicators, soldered up the earth connector inside.
Araldited back together the offside indicator when the ram air tube fell off and snapped!
Took out and copper greased the ram air tubes screws - all two hundred of them!
Tank off, 'airbox' off, cleaned up the throttle bodies a bit.
Had a go at balancing the TB's with my carbtune electronic balancer - they were perfect!
Found the PO had lost the blanking screws for the air bypass screws.
Had the tank off & on about 10 times I swear.
Hands are filthy but a decent days work.

  2. Good for you, satisfying ain't it

  3. It certainly beats shopping.
