Hi Guys, Can any of you help? I’m looking for a good, reputable, rolling road tuner in the Kent /south east area. Can anyone recommend a company please? Ideally a preferable recommendation would be based upon personal experience! I’d like my Hypermotard 939 tuned properly. Also has anyone managed to get a sports air filter yet for this bike? If so a link to the supplier / shop would be great! Many thanks in advance!! Paul
Not in Kent etc. but CJS in Bristol are one of the best. There is accommodation just up the road from his workshop so you could turn it into a roadtrip.
Thanks for the replies guys. I've just got in contact with HM Racing (Edenbridge) - anyone had dealings with them? Seem like helpful chaps.
Awesome guys...our Husky NOX goes there... Head down the drive between the car show room and the petrol garage, then turn right behind the Petrol garage; last unit at the end. For some reason they feel that we can use the force to find them....no signage.
Hmmm, not sure I can agree with the anywhere else statement, Mark at BSD in Peterborough knows his shit that's for sure.
Ive just had a dyno run at BSD in EYE just outside Peterborough ... nice and relaxed very nice chap as well .... will fit my exhaust system and air filter kit then its back for a set up session ...
Had my 1100 done at BSD. Was very happy with the results and service, couldn't fault Mark. He's far from second best... Here's my dyno graph for anyone interested:
I would have complete faith in equal measure using either Mark at BSD or Chris at CJS. Two of the best tuning technicians in the country, if not the best. Neither will disappoint
Before you get it done you need to get all your engine mods done first otherwise when you change something (air filter for example) itll need to be dyno'd again knocking the price up...
Always do....just for the record heres my last evo.... This is from stock with Twin Termi end pipe and decat with a drilled airbox and K&N This is then with a Mivv race header set and velocity stacks. Other mods were removing the o2 sensors, flapper valve motor and increasing the redline by 500 rpm.
I'm expecting some good results (hopefully) from my sp as the pipes have no collector....just wish I had some stacks to go in there but no....
Heres the zed...although it doesn't look like a big gain theres was loads of other stuff he did also resulting in an incredibly driveable bike....from an acceleration point of view its now a fucking rocketship.... Other mods were flapper valve motor deleted, o2 sensors removed, fuel cut off sorted out and secondary injector cut in time changed....in stock form the secondary set of injectors in 1st 2nd and 3rd cut in at 7k and then in 4th 5th and 6th cut in at 3k....now in the first 3 gears it cuts in at 3k also....with the QS installed youre literally hanging on to it....a straight-line-eddie out and out acceleration against an r1m (2015) model resulted in me still on is tail at 135, and before anyone says "yeah but he wasn't opening it up though..." yeah...he was as I was close enough to see his right hand twisted right round the throttle plus his pipe was backfiring on the upshift....as was mine. Admittedly if it got to stretch it legs a bit more it would have been a different story but that's not bad from a bike that comes pretty well at the bottom of the pecking order for the current crop of nakeds...
Some nice curves there........ As you say a graph and big numbers is nice but id go for driveability everyday......
Yep - id say the biggest plus with what Chris does is make the bike driveable at between 15 - 40mph....you can literally crawl through heavy traffic without dipping the clutch or having to go up and down gears...followed very closely by an even lighter front end (see first pic) the torque curve in 2nd and third is massive once its been done....
Nice... Do you know if his price for the older MM ECU the same as the newer ? His website only shows the price for the newer Siemens ECU Hyper ?
Yep - price is the same...your paying for a full day on the dyno no matter what....in fact when I took my evo there first Chris did say that the older ecu's are easier to do that the newer ones...
