For Sale - Rev Counter Drive for 1981 900SS Hi, I'm having a garage clear out and came across the rev counter drive for my old 900SS. I bought the bike new in 1981, a beautiful black and gold model with 40mm bell mouthed carbs, Conti silencers..... but you get the picture. There were a couple of warranty items with the bike and one of them was a weeping of oil from around the rev counter drive cover on the front cylinder head. The cover was replaced under warranty but the leak persisted. It turned out to be a porous casting of the cylinder head near to the joint and that was cured with some filler. However, I retained the original rev counter drive which was not at fault and so should work perfectly. It's been sat in a drawer in my garage for over 30 years so I can't vouch that its still oil tight. However, it appears okay, the drive still turns freely and the thread for the cable connection is perfect. I intend to put it on E Bay but I thought I'd offer it to you good folks first.
