1299 Reverse.... Reverse Gp Shift

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Dr.D, Dec 6, 2019.

  1. Hi all,

I have treated myself to an early xmas present, a 1299S. It is awesome but the chap before me had a reverse gp shift on it. I know it is a cable and a connector.

My question is does anyone know the part numbers I need to buy or the standard parts to pop it back to normal shift ie 1up 5 down, and is it that difficult?

When I have done it.... if anyone wants this reverse gp shift let me know.

    Cheers

  2. Can you just reverse it back again? - check this vid for a guide to fitting it in the first place - although this doesn’t make it clear why the rod comes with the kit as in the vid it’s just a cable that swaps the wires round.

edit. There are two kits - one which replaces the entire shifter rod for the 1199/899 and another for the 1299 - 96580081B

Looking at the below vid you should just be able to reverse it back again and remove the extra wire.

If you want to buy the original part it’s 45612101AA

We discussed GP shift in this thread recently and it’s usually just a case of reversing the direction of the pedal action on the gearbox. https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/got-on-the-list-early-for-the-v2.74359/page-3

  3. I had to buy a kit with a different arm in it to reverse my 1299S. You swap it with the standard splined arm. It was a Ducati part.

  4. Standing by for the incoming "it's race shift, not GP shift, GP is 6 down"

By normal shift i would imagine you mean 1 down ,5 up ?

  6. Yep, got confused, normal as in 1 down 5 up.... I have got the little knuckle now... but bigger problems it won't start! I bought it 3 days ago, only had a service last month, 7.5k, immaculate, bought it rode it no probs, went to it yesterday, put the battery on charge... supposedly full charged and won't start! I am so disappointed I have never spent so much on a bike. I have ordered a new battery

  7. Are you keeping keeping the bike plugged into a battery optimiser ?
