Finally got out for a spin with @Cupid Stunt , @CRYSTALJOHN and Gavin this morning.. Bit of banter, fags (literally), tea and bacon sarnie... Pulling away in the gravelly car park (speedo showing a stupid figure, see other post...), did half a revolution of the wheel and BANG... Result of stone getting stuck to a Supercorsa SC1 on a hot day and dragged under the mudguard..trashed my fakkin FG353 Desmo forks mudguard attachment lugs!!!!! Bad day, very bad day.
maybe this is an option. http://shop.fastfrankracing.com/675...Daytona-200-Winner-T67507-A.htm?categoryId=-1
Feckin heckin hell...!!! That's seriously bad luck indeed. The RS, came with separate mounting brackets and plates. Contact Kevin and Forza-Moto. I'm sure he can get his hands on them for you.
Jesus, the kind of day that makes you wish you hadn't bothered to get out of bed. I can't see those fork footings being cheap.
You got away lightly my breakfast was £6,50 But seriously gutted about forks we have been there before with your bike
We put our collective minds together Ricky once we got to Goodwood, maybe a c-clip type attachment that followed the three indents on the housing. Machined right it could well look very OEM. We had a look online but could only find a Tamiya scale model set for you - sorry Gavin https://www.wonderlandmodels.com/products/tamiya-112-ducati-desmosedici-front-fork-set/
Update... Spent the morning in the garage head scratching... Made a cardboard template for one side and then gashed a bracket out of 1.6mm aeroplane alloy sheet using a hacksaw and files, drilled and tapped at the mounting holes. The bracket is tapped and with longer bolts it picks up on the lower (good) mount point. The extension below the lower bolt rests against the fork bottom to prevent the whole assembly rotating around the lower point. Just tried it out and it is pretty solid, even in such thin material. I will get some neater ones made out of a bit of 6.35mm alloy I have knocking about and polish them up. I reckon it'll work a treat.
Good functional solution Richard, albeit it's not too elegant in it's work in progress form lol. Have you explored @Bullitt idea about the RS's separate mounting brackets? What a compete and utter bastard thing to happen!
