I sit to far forward on the bike. I keep getting told this but struggle to fix it. My nads tend to sit up against the tank; and I fail to maintain a fist size space as recommended. I'm thinking about getting some velcro and some hard foam and making / fixing a spacer between the tank and seat to keep me back in the seat... Anyone done this? Any advice?? Cheers, Bob
Many a succesful and superfast racer ride with their bollox on the tank...whatever feels comefortable and lets you flow. Or you could just add some foam at the front of tank so you cant sit farther forward
Yep, I'm stuck between changing my body position ( I always look twisted and awkward when I see photos of myself) or sticking with what is comfortable. (old dog; new tricks...) Going to Portimao next week for 4 days with FE so planning to try to work on body position a lot whilst out there. Think I'll put a big block of foam on the back of the tank to make me sit further back and try to hang off a bit more; get my head where my hand is, as my old mate would say... Keep getting told to aim for a fist size space between me and the tank; why don't they make the tank longer ! ;-) The super hanging off Marquez look is getting popular (Rossi leaning off more now...) but the the likes of Michael Dunlop not hanging off nearly so much; and he's pretty quick ! ;-) I'm 46, and find hanging off a lot F*****g hard work; but I'll give it a go for 4 days...
Doohan...rutter...chris walker...Bayliss...all pretty twited riders Which istwsited, top or bottom half?
Css and ron haslam teach leaving a fist sized gap between your bits and the tank , but the motovudu dvd says have your bits against the tank , just do what feels natural they all can't be wrong at the end of the day we all want to go faster on track and be safer
Eat donuts or the staple food of obese Britain (McDonalds) get a great big fat arse (again like obese Britain) then you'll need to force yourself into your seat thereby not leaving any space for a fist sized gap.
Yes there are some do's and don'ts about getting the ultimate lap times, but if you ain't racing, you're going be safer if you feel comfortable no matter what it looks like.
