Hi, Has anyone put the rizoma stuff on their monster, looks gorgeous mods, but is it worth the money?
yes. Worth the money? Only you will know that, but it's great kit and is finished really well. They also supply spares should anything get broken.
I've got Rizoma grips and bar ends, indicators front and rear, and belt covers. I love their stuff. Its gorgeous and so well made. It's only money, right?
can't speak for monsters but have belts covers and grips and bar ends on my SS top quality stuff and no complaints at all buy quality and you will only ever buy it once, buy cheap tat and you will forever be replacing it
I had some Rizoma stuff on my 999 when I bought it, within 10 minutes of getting home it was off the bike. Ok its well made etc but IMO just bolt on trinkets and to much of the stuff can make the bike look like a tarts handbag.
well if you like plastic belts covers then that is just dandy, personally I think plastic looks cheap and alloy looks better - each to their own did you get a good price on flea bay for the bits you didn't like?
I had the belt cover and clutch cover both with windows. Wasnt sure whether to fill them with water and throw a few gold fish in  Your right plastic is not the best I prefer carbon belt covers and a nice JHP style vented clutch cover. Think the sale raised about £100
damm!!!!!!!! I missed out on a bargain paid a bit more than they for mine Carbon fibre - managed to keep clear of that so far prefer polished alloy, wife has that all over her bike though
Rizoma is good stuff. There rear sets are excellent. I stuck a bar end mirror on the streetfighter to get those big rabbit ear type mirrors off and it looks great. Have to agree that belt covers with windows etc goes a bit too far and tuning blingy. Would recommend some subtle mods but each to thier own!
I'm about to order some Rizoma stuff too - reservoirs and grips. I would go for the bar end mirrors too but like the OEM one's because I can actually see what is behind me easily! My sports bikes never afforded a view behind me unless I moved about a bit. So those who have bar end mirrors - how do they compare view-wise with the OEM ones?
What is the point of those grips? You have less palm and finger contactthan normal full length grips. Maybe i'm missing the point, heavier things which reduce control contact must be the way to go........ I did think that sort of "MOD" (???) was best left to the harley and goldwing brigade.
Purely looks. I'm guessing but I can't imagine weight being noticeable - negligible at best as they are aluminium. In terms of losing the full length, I don't see this as an issue unless you have very large hands. So the main reason for modding the grips is aesthetics in this case methinks since the existing rubber grips look cheap in my opinion. I'd keep them all black though.
I've got small hands. How many people have hands whose palm spans the entire width of the grip? They are really comfy to use and I've noticde no lack of control. They are not heavy at all. I've had lots of positive comments on them, mostly from other Monster owners. Maybe it's a Monster thing. Let's face it, Monsters are probably the most cosmetically modified of all the Ducatis.
Nice rizoma pink oopps i meant red grips for me. LOL. and a few other bits to great stuff. brian.
You are the same Mr C as has just threatened to shit through someone's letterbox unless he sent you an invisible carbon water pump cover??? But I agree: all that windows rubbish and open cam belts and (dare I say it) open clutch covers are a bit too far. I imagine the owners are also those who buy watches that reveal the inner workings - "look at that movement!". Still, hey, why not? One man's meat is another man's rissole, as my English teacher used to say.
