Yep, they did that in Billericay, Hutton, Shenfield about a month ago. Still lots of loose about in centre and kerbs. Dangerous and not very long lasting imho.
Same around my way too. Sometimes think they do it regardless of weather it needs it, just making sure they spend what they've allowed for roadworks! Also as you say it doesn't seem to last as long anymore. And I noticed they have added new signs that say skid risk! If they did the job properly they wouldn't need new signs.
They just did the road to Squires - Sherburn in Elmet where hundreds of bikes meet - the road was perfect smooth tarmac with no pot holes or imperfections. Looks like the local council has done it because of the bikes out of badness :Rage::Rage::Rage::Rage::Rage: They talk about health and safety then put hundreds of people at risk - they need punching in the fukin nose the bastards. unch:unch:unch:unch:unch:
I have complained to Northants County Council Highways about this - and suggested that they refund the £75 excess on the new windscreen I needed. They have referred me to the contractor who did the work. I have now written to them too but won't be holding my breath. In both emails I queried how the hell, in todays Health and Safety obsessed world, they think they can get away with damaging peoples vehicle glass and bodywork - and more importantly, putting bikers and cyclists at such risk. A crap system of resurfacing if there ever was one. RB
Did it outside the farm i live on and because we have lorries in and out all day long, the entry area was torn up within hours. It only lasts a few months & is as stated a FUBAR situation for us & cyclists.
Let me guess. The council's response will be to put up signs warning of 'loose road surface' and impose a very low speed limit so vehicles have to creep along. Then any damage will be your fault because you must have been going too fast - for which you will be fined.
