its had just been in for a service before i noticed it - I can't say for certain if it were there before of not but i clean the thing after every ride and never noticed it before

because of where it is and how clean it is it hasn't been picked up from the road.

only thing i can think is it came from the transport crate, been lodged somewhere and worked its way out?

i had a GSXR a few years ago and there was a big nut wedged under the seat ready to drop out of the subframe, which had came from the packing crate.

any ideas where this might have come from?

  2. I think its from one part of the fairing which the other part screws into. take fairings off & you will probably notice where its missing - it just slides on mate

  3. That's a fairing clip, they're used all over the bike so check all the fairing bolts on that side of the bike and under the seat. You might find a bolt missing.

  4. my first thought was fairing so looked at these and they're black painted and M5

this is M8 and galvanised so don't think its of the fairing.

  5. Check all your exhaust heatshields they're often held on with M8s and clips :upyeah:

  6. I had another look tonight and took the fuse cover off as I know there's a clip nut behind there as well as under the seat there's 3 and they're all there.

I had a look under the heat shield and can feel 2 bolts where the pillion pegs mount to but couldn't see any others

When I've got the wheel out I will have a proper look again under there.

I think if it is off my bike it my be off the tank or heat shield.

  7. Don't forget the big U shaped shield under the seat, there are probably other plates bolted on but you'll probably have to strip the fairing off to get a good gander

  8. M8 ones are used to bolt the rear seat unit to the subframe, check the big Allen key bolts under the pillion seat

  9. Hope you found if in the end!

  10. Had the wheel out today to change sprockets and had. Good look under the heat shield and couldn't see anything.

It may have come from under the tank maybe. Under the tail unit all looks fine

  11. Could be I came off on the service and the tech couldn't find it so he popped a new one on?

  12. Didn't think of that!

    Will ring to ask tomorrow

  13. I'm missing one on the multi! Can I have mine back you tea leaf rogue [emoji6]

  14. Think I might have found where it's from - think it's from the pillion handle strap which I removed when I fitted the solo seat cowel.
