Rolling Stones tickets

  1. Can't believe the prices people are paying !! Hundreds!
    Would you pay it?

If not the Stones who would you pay through the nose to see?

Me Pink Floyd .. And the Bonzo dog doo dah band

  2. agree 100% with first selection Melanie - it is a lot of money but I would feel £100 - 200 was money well spent to see P.F. at my age and considering how few concerts I go to now despite seeing them several times. I count myself lucky to have 'been there' at their best gig bar none (will never be the same without Richard though..) my sister was big on your second choice and so have heard most of theirs and that was enough tbh - 'my pink half of the drainpipe' can get stuck in your head for days! (not literally).

  3. I've never had the pleasure if either bands live :(
worst ive heard when I lived near the football ground was Status Quo!

  4. Saw the Stones in Newcastle back in '73 when I was a spotty teen. I certainly didn't pay a lot though I can't remember exactly how much it was.

  5. Ten years agao I would have paid the £150 ticket prices, but not today. Im not that interested in seeing them, which although a bit of a shame, saves me a few quid. Saw Kiss a few years back and would easily pay £100 to see them again. Would love to see Pink Floyd and Led Zep, although with the Zep, you'd have to find some new band members

  6. Ticket prices these days are getting like everything else......ridiculous!

Lady Ga Ga in that London was £120 a few month back...Rihanna at the stadium of shite next year is £70.......and neither are what you could call music legends.

So for true musical genius......prices are uncapped now, although I believe the touts had their fingers burnt for the Stones opening night :upyeah:

You only have to look at getmein.com prices, which is owned by ticketmaster......as soon as tickets go on sale at ticketmaster and your stuck in the 'high demand' you are in a que please wait bollocks.....they have no problem selling them on getmein's computer system with the 'computer crash free' extremely higher prices. :frown:

  7. The stones nope I wouldn't
I wouldn't go see them either.

Paid £65 to see Roger Waters at the O2 last year best money I have spent
    to see The Wall

I would pay more though to see Pink Floyd.

    Other than that

  8. Tickets are getting very expensive, for example P!nk's latest tour the tickets for the O2 were £65 each. Now I like P!nk and have seen her on every since her 2nd album, but this year the tickets were just too expensive, it's not that we can't afford to go but we don't want to pay that sort of price especially when you have to consider the cost of driving there, parking and getting something to eat it works out to be an expensive night out.

  9. You would have to pay me to go and watch the Rolling Stones. It is bad enough having to listen to their CDs when my other half plays them.
And the same goes for Pink Floyd for that matter!
i went to see The Gaslight Anthem last month. The best £21 I have paid for a concert.
and off to see Michael Buble next summer at £85 per ticket  But that is my daughter's choice.

  10. As a 36 year old man, P!nk is a bit of a guilty pleasure, especially when most of my music consists of AC/DC, Metallica, The Who etc

  11. My mate is going next year to see it and he's paid £68, which I don't think is that bad.

  12. 100 quid for the Stones? Hmmm. Certainly not a penny more, and they'd have to be playing near me. I passed up opportunities in the past to see them, cheaper and when they were younger.

I saw PF 3 times - magical concerts. And I saw Gilmour at the Albert Hall and Waters at the O2, so not sure that I'd pay a massive amount to see them again.

TBH, I've pretty much seen everyone I am desperate to see. Was sorry not to get tickets for the Cure this summer, would like to see New Order. But I'd willingly pay £100 to see the Talking Heads' fantastic concert at Wembley Arena in 1982 once again. But that's not going to happen, is it?

  13. That brings back fond memories I knew Viv Stanshall and his wife Ki quite well, Bonzo were great fun, by god could he drink you could loose entire weeks hanging out with him, even his funeral was bonkers, Sh1t just thought about that it was 17 years ago, I'm putting some on the i-Phone now thanks Mel

  14. We go to London once a month or so to see a band, anything from punk, electro/dance, pop, rock etc. and although we've seen a lot of old bands 'anniversery' tours the Stones didn't appeal and the max i'll pay is £80ish and thats got to be on the floor or good seats if seated. From the clips on the news etc I don't think they were all that anyhow. Got standing tix for Florence at the O2 next month £30.00 each, recon that'll be a better show.

  15. I'd pay large to see The Stones, Pink Floyd too.
I'd also like to see Neil Young, preferably with CS&N...........

..........and preferably in Southern California where it's NOT CONSTANTLY P!SSING IT DOWN.

  16. You went to status quo, no wonder you've never been again! Please Mr Snipper man with your big 50 cal shoot the members of Status Quo for me!

Any way one ticket was on sale for 30 grand, other were selling for a grand! As much as I love them ... no way man!

  17. I saw Pink Floyd at Chantilly during the Division Bell tour... I was so mashed I spent most of the gig cling to the grass trying not to take off!

  18. I'm going to see Slade and Sweet in Dundee in a couple of weeks time - now that's worth paying £20 for! I would pay a lot more to see Mr. Bowie though if he would ressurect Ziggy and the Spiders.

  19. Apologies for a bit off - topic M.
Stannie :- Cheers me up to think we can still communicate just fine on a thread despite having such different musical tastes.
Glid :- have a feeling we spoke on this already (memory etc) There was something really special about a T.H. Concert wasn't there? nobody has ever come close to replicating their unique style live as far as I know. Saw them twice and rate them as one of the best live acts I ever went to.
Kato :- I envy you - I knew which boat Viv lived on in Shepperton but I never plucked up the courage to say hello. My hair was as long as his in those days. What a character and what a tragic way to go.
Parabolica :- Would also love to see Neil Young, gifted musical nutter - 'Let's impeach the president' etc !!

  20. Are you me!?
I'm 37 and have seen Metallica 3 times, Iron Maiden 4 times and loads of others including Seether, Rammstien, Greenday, Spinal Tap, Van Halen, Joe Satriani, Slayer, Xentrix, Art of Dying, Feeder, Lost Prophets, Evanescence, You and me at six, Finger 11 and others that I've forgotten to list  P!nk is good though :upyeah:
