Hello guys and girls Did the Ron Haslam Race School today at Donington Park and loved it. Am very much a Novice and had never done a trackday before but found the whole experience very enjoyable. The day is split into three track sessions and a few briefings including instructor advice (Chap i had was very helpful and seemed like a top bloke) 1st Session-so much to think about, pretty slow but buzzing afterwards 2nd Session- hardest of the three putting some body positioning into practice while keeping an eye on apex and choosing gears to suit etc 3rd sessions - most enjoyable getting faster feeling more natural at each corner. pushing on a bit each lap. Shame there wasn't a fourth as i think that would of topped the day off. so just a bit of an insight If you never done a track day before I think you would find it an enjoyable experience and although I did premier class there were racers/ ex racers in same class so you really can go at whatever pace your comfortable with. May give the California superbikes a go for comparison and they also use the Panigales which will transfer well to my bike for future track days. Anyone else had good/bad experiences of either? I was also there Lyndon. Couldn't of picked a better day weather wise. This was my second time there (last time it pissed it down) and both times amazed by how well organised the days are. I found my self improving with each session and my instructor Matt was an absolute pleasure, an ex racer and still lives and breathes bikes. It was good to be introduced to Ron and Leon and I recognised a couple of journo's milling about (Neevsey being one). All in all an awesome day and I would highly recommend doing this regardless of your experience and ability, we are always learning and there's always room for improvement - you will not be disappointed.
