  1. Hi guys iam new to V twins only had my Multi 1200 for a short time only got 900 miles on her at mo,the bike is great and i love her my question is at low revs she seems very lumpy and surges sometimes is this normal for V twins i have only had triples in the past, so any way to smooth her out cheers guys.

  2. Try riding one gear down. Say you would normally ride at 30mph in 3rd (IL4 like), try riding in 2nd. For slower manoeuvres, like a 90 degree turn at traffic lights a little bit of clutch slip smooths things out.

  3. Get rid of cat replace exhaust and put it on a dyno, it will improve but not eradicate the lumpy running and it will sound better.

  4. Yep as chris says, lower gear on the straights, more clutch for tight slow stuff. Singles, twins, triples and fours all have their own different little riding styles. Just got to learn it and enjoy.

  5. The big V-twins (and she is a BIG V-twin) like the MTS, are not really the happiest girls at low urban speeds, U-turns and the like. The clutch is your friend. You'll adapt.

The Yanks try their best to try and engineer this out. Weird but true. It's the nature of the beast. Learn & enjoy.

  7. Looking good for the weekend and next week!

I always had Jap bikes, then I bought an Aprilia Dorsoduro and straight away felt the way you described, just got use to it and don't think I will ever return to an inline 4!

    Enjoy
