Running In?

  1. Had my Hyper sp a couple of weeks now and find it irresistible to keep it under 6k revs, some say give it the beans from day one, I've avoided dual carriage ways and stuck to the twistier routes to give it plenty of variation, what have other done?/recommend?

  2. I play safe and run an engine in the way the manufacturer tells you to run it in. Keep riding it, it doesn't take long.

  3. I don't think it will do any long lasting damage to the engine if you were to take it over 6k every now and then. Just wouldn't touch the red line just yet. I would warm the bike up thoroughly though and let it idle for a minute or to when you stop. Oil technologies have come on leaps and bounds in the last 10 or so years that engines are well protected now from new. Years ago I ran a zx9 doing it this way and never had any problems. I had the bike for around 4years and clocked Jo 30 thou or so. As long as you change the oil and filter regular can't see you having any problems at all.

  4. Sounds like your already doing it the correct way , stick to the twistys , squirt it through the gears , don't worry if you go over recommended revs by a few thousand it won't blow up , and if it does it would of blew up however you run it in !
