Hi to all. Having an issue with what i thought was the front coil as bike is running on 1 cylinder. Pulled ht lead from front coil engine still running the same. From this i continued to change coil for a known working one, still no change. Hope someone can shed some light on this problem. Thanks in advance
Thanks for the reply. Apologises I'm having one of those days. Front cylinder has good spark but plug is dry. Appears no fuel is being delivered to this cylinder at all ?
if you are sure plug/cylinder is dry then unfortunately quickest way to reveal/confirm problem is to remove tank, or at least prop up to get a visual while running (albeit on one cylinder). Much easier with two people. Has tank been removed recently?
Hi Chris. This bike has been unused for sometime since its last mot as been using my other bikes. Ran perfectly to mot station then as said not been used for sometime. Came to start bike & now only the vertical cylinder firing into life. Can see injector firing fuel into vertical cylinder but unable to see horizontal. Could this be a possible injector issue as its been sat or are there other associated components ? Thanks
The injectors are the only components in the fuel system with "moving parts" apart from pump and the pressure relief valve etc contained in pump assy unit. How long unused? - could well be a gummed injector. Removing and just leaving tip immersed in carb cleaner in the aerosol cap 24 hours or so will usually be enough to free-off. People spend a fortune on "professional" injector cleaning but this rarely yields any better results. How many miles has bike done? If you think there's a chance it's lack of pulse via loom then swapping injector plugs horizontal to vertical would confirm.
Bike has been sat for 12 months with last firing up around 6 months ago, mileage 9,000. Thank you for the advice will try what you explained
If you need to, leave injector soaking in the shade/away from heat or moving air as could evaporate away for period necessary.
