1199 Rusty Discs.

  1. My bike's covered 2500 miles since August from new, only 70 miles of which have been in the rain (2x trip to the dealer). Bikes kept in a decent watertight garage etc etc. Not been cleaned with anything abrasive etc. My front discs currently look as attached. Rear disc is ok.

On any other bike I've had this has taken years. Anyone else had this? Bike used often etc. It looks shit to be fair.

    Thank you.

  2. Matches the paint :Wideyed: never had that...

  3. I got a new set under warrenty same thing

  4. What are you washing the bike with?

  5. What was the explanation for it happening? I've had two 1199s now, rode through some major rain on a couple of trips and never had this happen. Are you close to the coast by any chance; sea air and all that??

  6. I've never had it either which is why I asked. It was the first ride in the wet for the first service that did the damage. The rust appeared pretty much within days of it first getting wet. At first I thought it was dirt.

Then set about washing it at the weekend after riding it to a dealership on the same day and saw it had become noticeably worse.

    Rear brake is ok.

  7. mine is similiar . 3 months old

  8. Mine gets left out side my house mate not always garaged

  9. Mine do it, the metal is iron not stainless, iron as said before works better don't see it as a problem. I'd be more worried when the engine paint starts peeling off lol.

  10. Anything that increases the co-efficient of friction in relation to braking is a good thing.
