748 S Titanium Grey Does Anyone Own One?

Discussion in '748 / 916 / 996 / 998' started by psousa, Aug 27, 2022.

  1. Hi! does anyone know if this bike (limited to 250) grey in colour is supposed to have originally de fairing decals over the paint or are they covered by mate clearcoat? someone is selling one with the decals sticked over the paint but Im not very convinced...

  2. If you can wait until Tuesday or Wednesday, I am going to my dealer and I know they have one going through the workshop. I question why a bike needed an engine rebuild at a relatively low mileage though and just for the record, the run out 748 in titanium grey was built and delivered to dealers in the second quarter of 2002. This one clearly wasn’t first registered until 2003. Andy

  3. Thanks! I would be very appreciated! I can wait :)

  4. If you could take a close up picture of the decals and share it in this forum would be great! Thanks :)

  5. That’s an odd one, as far as I know, the titanium grey option wasn’t available in 2001. Andy

  6. @psousa, visited my dealer this morning and can confirm the decals are NOT clear coated, they sit on the paint. The decal is very thick and is very obvious when you run your fingers of them and there is a sparkle to them. Workshop confirmed that this is peculiar to the titanium grey 748S outrun model. Andy

  9. I have the chance to get the 748S Titanium grey for around 5500 eur with 42000 km in relatively good shape. Do you guys think its a good option?

  10. It depends. Number of owners, service history, how and when the miles have been done. On the face of it, the miles (kilometres) and price would be good in the UK but you need to be happy, it’s got to be worth it to you. Andy

  11. thanks for the feedback...gives me some more info to research.
