S999*** number plate

  1. My recent 749r has a S999*** private reg plate from the previous owner which I find a bit strange and feel like its pretending to be something it isn't.

I have no idea about how to change the registration, can it be done cheaply or does it cost a few hundred quid in total at the lowest end which would be better spent on parts?

  2. I might be interested in your plate
    pm me

  3. there are full details on tbe dvla cherished transfers site.
    its not expensive relatively speaking

  4. Thanks for info about cherished transfers, minimum price on DVLA website is £250 which could be better spent on parts. Does anyone know if it is possible to switch back from the private plate S999*** it is currently registered on to the original plate it was 1st registered on - or will this be just as expensive an option for me.

  5. Sometimes the v5 will show the number as "not transferable" to put this number on a retention certificate would cost 105 pounds or 85 pounds to transfer it

  6. Previous owner has just informed me that the original plate was transferred to someone else.

  7. im interested in buying it.
    dependamt on price
    as I said pm me

  8. The change is easy and pain free and will cost circa £105 to be put onto a Retention certificate. So what your saying he sold you the bike signed the V5 and then sold the plate ? Cheeky bugger

  9. The seller was good as gold, I think I have misunderstood the process, back in 04 it was on a normal plate, it was then changed to the S999*** plate on it currently which I purchased on the bike. I am waiting for the V5 to come back from the DVLA so I can check details out properly. I believe the original 04 plate was sold by the 1st owner (I brought the bike from the 2nd owner) I have no reason to doubt the seller, he was a good genuine guy and I am completely happy with bike & how seller went through sale process.
