Samco Hose Kit

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by Bluehawk, Dec 17, 2013.

  1. Just wondered what feedback or your experience is of these. Had a fluid leak on a couple of the colder days, but by all accounts, a known fault on the 999. Easy to fit?

    All the best

  2. Yeah, i'd be interested too. is it bling or is it a necessary mod?

  3. Me to ! £120 plus for a few inches of hose pipe ?

  4. Yeah, but to be fair, it looks good and thats half the point.

  5. If you ride around without the fairings I suppose.

  6. Women wear fancy knickers and you don't see them (usually). But its nice to know they're there.

  7. Looks good, lowers the temperature. Personally I love my Samco hoses. Bit of a pig to get on, especially the ones for the overflow tank, but hey, its all done now :upyeah:

  11. Nice try. Your frame is red. The hoses are orange. The evidence is there by your own hands.

    We'll be watching you.

  14. Looks aside, they do a matt black variant now.

The thermal properties are unchanged over OEM, but what you do get is a more durable hose that's better reinforced and also doesn't get attacked by oil and regular road smeg, so overall actually not a bad investment.

Only thing as matt has said is they can be a pig to get on, as they're a bit slippery, so if you don't get them on proper like they can pop off. But that said, if you don't know when a hose is on properly then you shouldn't really be riding a moatybike should you

  15. Mine

Bit like Matt's but with metal pipes on the rad runs, Venair. Absolute pig to install

One thing that happened with mine was I couldn't be arsed getting the new hose clips I had onto the water pump inlet and used the original clips, which over time bit into the hose and tore it. I then replaced all the hoses with broad SS rolled edge type, silicone is soft and can tear if the right clips aren't used

Got no clue how to get rid of that second pic that's appeared and is entirely unrelated???

  16. I thought about it for my 1098S that I had. But decided against it, I might, MIGHT get them for the Multi, but I honestly can't see the justification lol. It's like the socks on the brake and clut res's, totally for show if you ask me.

  17. A common mistake, is for installers to overtighten the clips.

  18. I use a black set for the 999R. I'll if I can organise a picture.

  19. OJ, Loving the look of your bike there

  20. Kind of you to say so Matt.

The only thing that's different now is the thing did a suicide dive into my Guzzi earlier this year (my stupid fault). So a Termi was toast. Now replaced with Quat D end cans. I suppose that's sacrilage to the forum, but I actually prefer the look. Sound not as boomy as the Termis (a downside) but the quality is much better and a helluva site cheaper.

I don't feel I've done so much just tried to add odds and ends and keep it clean, sometimes more successful than others

    Sorry for moving off topic.
