1260 Same Engine Guard Cover On 1260 S And Pikes Peak?

  1. Anyone who knows if the engine guard cover is identical on 1260 S and Pikes Peak? Want to have a black cover in combination with Evotech Performance covers on my 1260 S GT

  2. I'm not sure, but it would be cheaper to have your existing cover powder coated.

That's what I did. And I've got a PP so it was black in the first place. The standard paint finish is thin!

  3. Good idea. On this note, I was thinking of having the Catbox ceramic coated during the winter.

BTW, I have both the EP rad guards and the engine guard on my 1260 PP. Nice pieces. Excellent quality.
Truth be told, the engine guard is more for the bling than the protection.

  4. Just received feedback from a dealer. They say its the same, just different colour. But expencive, cost is about EUR 235 here in Norway. Think I will try to paint it myself first. If it turn out to bad, I will take the cost of a new one in black.

  5. Yes it is the same, but just do what I’ve done and have it powdercoated. Cost me £50 including some other parts. Just make sure you go for a textured finish, or it’ll chip.

  6. Did you do anything to the surface before powdercoating?

  7. Nope, they took care of that.

  8. Or Anodising works and cheaper than buying a new one
